Kuwait awards Spanish Tecnicas Reunidas USD3.3b gas deal


(MENAFN) Kuwait has awarded Spain's Tecnicas Reunidas company an EPC contract to build a gas treatment unit at its Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery, Emirates 24/7 reported.

Kuwait's central tenders committee has agreed to pre-qualify a number of global firms to bid for a project to construct a pier and LNG import units at Al-Ahmadi at cost of USD3.3 billion.

Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) awarded the engineering, procurement and construction contract to the Spanish firm's local agent Al-Ajran General Trading and Contracting.

In 2014, Kuwait awarded a contract to upgrade Al-Ahmadi refinery as part of the multi-billion dollar clean fuel project that, involving the updating of Mina Abdullah refinery and the construction of Al-Zour refinery.
