Turkish FM criticizes Houthis' noncompliance with UN resolutions

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has underlined the importance of abiding by the UN resolutions to find a peaceful solution to the crisis in Yemen.

In a joint press conference with Qatari counterpart Khaled Al-Attiyah, Cavusoglu assailed Houthis for their noncompliance with the relevant UN resolutions.

"Everybody needs to respect the UN resolution on Yemen, however, we see that the Houthis are behaving timidly to implement such decisions," he said.

The minister reiterated his country's call for an inclusive Yemeni dialogue to resolve the crisis peacefully.

For his part, the Qatari minister urged Houthis to respect the humanitarian ceasefire, expected to start Tuesday, to ease suffering of Yemeni people.

"A truce has been called on Friday, beginning on Tuesday. This decision should definitely be implemented. This is a humanitarian attempt," Al-Attiyah said.
