Royal Oman Police News: Man held in Buraimi on murder charges


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) An Asian was arrested on charges of murdering a compatriot in Buraimi.

The murder took place in an insurance company premises. Police said the victim was hit on the head and stabbed in the neck. The case is now with the Public Prosecution.

Drugs prohibited items among April seizures

During raids and checks in the month of April customs officials seized 268 psychotropic drug capsules as well as 182 prohibited items. Most of the drugs seized were Tramadol. Among the banned items was a large quantity of chewing tobacco 28 wireless calling devices; nine drones pens and watches fitted with laser electronic cigarettes surveillance devices firearms knives etc.

One arrested in Ma'abela shop burglary

An Omani has been arrested from Ma'abela for allegedly burgling a shop. The accused is said to have entered the store by breaking its door and stolen cash and phone cards.

Ten rescued from snag-hit boat

South Sharqiyah Coast Guard in cooperation with the Royal Navy of Oman ship Najah saved ten persons on board a boat from drowning. The rescue operation was carried out off the east coast of Ras al Hadd. Water had entered the boat due to engine failure making it tilt to its side.

Five women nabbed at Muscat airport with drugs

An attempt to smuggle drug capsules has been thwarted by customs officials at the Muscat International Airport.

Five Asian women were arrested with 3524 drug capsules. In another drug-related incident four Omanis were nabbed from Khabourah for smuggling drugs. They were found to be in possession of a large quantity of cannabis.
