Europe stocks closed sharply higher


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Europe's main stock markets closed sharply higher on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index jumping 2.32 percent to 7,046.82 points as the Conservatives swept to a surprise outright win in the British election.

The CAC 40 in Paris gained 2.48 percent to 5,090.39 points, while the DAX in Frankfurt soared 2.65 percent to 11,709.73 points.
