(MENAFN) According to official figures released, Ireland's manufacturing output surged by 2.8 percent in March compared to the previous month, Xinhua reported.
Production in March 2015 increased by 45.5 percent compared to March 2014. The statistics office (CSO) attributed the increase to the significantly expanded high-tech and chemical sectors.
The volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for the three months of 2015 was 15.6 percent higher than in the preceding three month period, it added.
The modern sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed a monthly increase in production of 7.9 percent. The traditional manufacturing sector fell 2.7 percent.
