Egypt, China trade balance hits USD11.6b in 2014


(MENAFN) The trade balance between Egypt and China reached a total of USD11.6 billion in 2014, according to the Republic of China ambassador to the African country, Daily News Egypt reported.

The Egypt-China cooperation is set to be further boosted by China Development Bank (CDB), which is ready to supply Egypt with the necessary fund for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The focal point of the two-ways collaboration is going to be through the energy and infrastructure sectors. Generally, Asian firms' interest lies within the infrastructure, transportation, industry, services and energy sectors of Egypt.

"We have multiple areas for investment, we have achieved approximately $19bn in investments over the past year," the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt said in a statement.
