Maldives contracts Indian firm GSI for 35 futsal courts


(MENAFN- KNN India) The Maldives government has contracted Great Sports Infra (GSI) of India, South Asia's leading sports infrastructure solution provider, for the supply and installation of 35 futsal courts (five-a-side football) totalling an area of 1,75,000 square feet in 35 different isles of the island nation.

A media report quoted GSI Director, Rupesh Tikku that work is going on in full swing and around 50 per cent of the project has been completed in a record time.

An area of almost 6 lakh square feet has been installed for clients like IAF, Indian Army, J&K Sports Council, Hyundai, Dell, TISB, Jain International School, Manipal University, Gujarat Law Society and IIT-Madras.

With the national game as football and a national futsal team already in place, the Maldivian government was looking for a futsal court with best playability, longest life and suitability for multisport and multipurpose. On all these counts, SnapSports Interlocking Modular Sports Flooring turned out to be the ideal choice.

Minister of Youth & Sports - Maldivies, Mohamed Maleeh Jamal said that after extensive research and technical evaluation, the government decided to go with SnapSports.
