Officials of GCC ministries of industry hold talks in Doha


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar hosted yesterday a meeting attended by undersecretaries of GCC ministries of industry and a delegation of the GCC General Secretariat.

A press release issued by the Ministry of Energy and Industry said that the meeting, which was chaired by Director of the Ministry's Industrial Development Department Saeed Mubarak al-Kuwari, discussed topics, including the General Secretariat's memo on a study for the non-oil exports' development strategy in the GCC countries, a proposal to establish a committee to be responsible for business initiatives and pioneers as well as small and medium enterprises' innovation, and an amendment to the GCC unified industrial law.

The meeting also followed up on the implementation of the decisions and recommendations of the 39th industrial co-operation committee meeting in Riyadh in October 2014, the recommendations on localising railway and metro industries in the GCC countries, and specifying the date of the 4th conference for GCC businessmen and their counterparts in India.
