(MENAFN) South Korean SK Telecom Co. said its first-quarter net profit surged 65.6 percent from a year earlier, mainly due to the absence of one-off costs, Yonhap News reported.
South Korea's top mobile carrier's net income reached USD409.5 million in the January-March period, compared with USD246.69 billion the previous year, the company said.
Operating profit jumped 60 percent on-year to USD371.65 billion in the first quarter, on the back of the absence of one-off costs. But compared with the fourth quarter, the operating income fell 18 percent.
Sales rose 0.9 percent to USD3.87 billion in the same period, as a robust performance from its affiliates including SK Planet Co. offset a decline in profit from network subscriptions.
