Egypt, Rwanda to build education


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Egypt's ambassador to Rwanda Namira Negm met Tuesday Rwandan Minister of Education Silas Lwakabamba regarding further cooperation between the two countries.

Lwakabamba praised his country's decision to re-open the Rwandan Embassy in Cairo, which will enhance bilateral relations between Egypt and Rwanda. He said it will expand opportunities for cooperation in all areas, especially in that of capacity-building in Rwandan education and academia.

During the meeting, Negm discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Rwanda in mining and geology. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the two countries for the establishment of mining and geology departments at the National University of Rwanda.

The ambassador also touched on the possibility of transferring Egyptian expertise to Rwanda in the field of vocational technical training.

Negm had met Rwandan Interior Minister Moussa Fadel Hariremana on Sunday to discuss various aspects of cooperation between Egypt and Rwanda in the fields of police and security.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, Lwakabamba thanked the Egyptian government for providing scholarships for students Rwandan.
