Dubai Intl. posts 7.2 percent traffic increase in March

(MENAFN) Dubai International Airport recorded 7.2 percent increase in passenger traffic in March, after surpassing London's Heathrow airport as the world's busiest Intl. last year, Reuters reported.

In March alone, the total number of passengers reached 6.74 million, motivated by the new flights added by Dubai carriers Emirates and flydubai.

However, passenger traffic soared by 6.8 percent in the first quarter of the year, increasing up to 19.61 million when compared to the corresponding period a year ago.

"As Dubai International nears its capacity limit due to the rapid growth of passenger traffic, DWC will play an increasingly important role in absorbing additional traffic," Dubai Airports said.
