Iraq- Six killed in Baghdad car bombing

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Police say a car bomb near the Baghdad headquarters of a Shi'ite militia fighting the Islamic State jihadist group in Iraq killed at least six civilians May 6.

At least 13 other people were wounded in the explosion near the headquarters of Kataeb Imam Ali in the Karrada neighborhood of central Baghdad.

The Islamic State militant group claimed the attack in a statement on jihadist forums, saying it detonated a car bomb in front of a hotel "where Iranian militia assemble."

This was the second attack in Karrada, which is popular with families at night, after the one on May 2, when 15 people were killed in a car bombing outside a crowded restaurant.

That attack was also claimed by the Islamic State group.
