Cars Taxi starts airport services

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Profit Group, one of the Karwa taxi service providers operating the Cars Taxi service in Qatar, has commenced airport taxi service with an initial fleet of 20 units of seven-seater Toyota Innova vehicles.

Formally launching the service at a ceremony on Monday, the company's Group director P Balasubramanium said each vehicle is equipped with advanced mobile data terminals, inclusive of meters, navigation systems, taxi tracking, dispatch and speed monitoring systems to provide "remarkably good service" round the clock to customers arriving at Hamad International Airport (HIA).

The company, it is learnt, has been operating close to 400 vehicles in the taxi market. The firm will also add more than 250 vehicles to the taxi market in the coming months.

Group executive director of the UAE-headquartered Cars Taxi Group, Abdulla Sultan al-Sabbagh, who is also the global chairman of the International Union of Public Transport, said the all-new fleet of Cars Taxi would be able to "cater impeccably" to the growing requirements of the local market.

"It is a remarkable achievement for the company to start operating airport taxis in less than nine months since it commenced taxi services in Qatar."

Speaking at the launch, Mowasalat's director of taxi and limousines Ali Abdulla Bahzad hoped the arrival of a new airport taxi service, regulated by Karwa, would go a long way in providing hassle-free journeys to customers arriving at and travelling to the airport.

The Mowasalat official said there has been a phenomenal growth in the taxi sector in the last few years as the country's population has been growing at a fast pace.
