(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Umar bowled a lethal spell to guide to spur Galfar Al Misnad to a comfortable six-wicket win in the Division A final of the Qatar Airways Cricket Tournament.
At the West Bay Cricket Ground, Umar sent strong rivals Al Feroz Club crashing to 146 all out and Galfar Al Misnad completed their six-wicket victory to emerge champions.
Batting first, Al Feroz failed to counter the tight bowling of Umar and lost wickets at regular intervals to collapse at 146 in 38 overs.
Umar picked up a six-wicket haul in a thrilling spell which set his team on the road to victory.
For Al Feroz Club, Imran survived the longest at the crease and top scored with 44 runs for Al Feroz. Haris made 27, while Mujeeb got 20 and Waseem followed him with 16.
Apart from Umar, Gyan grabbed two wickets and Saman, and Imraz shared other two.
Galfar Al Misnad were compact and patient during their chase and pulled off the victory in 29 overs. Imraz led the batting honours, making a stylish 65.
Iranga chipped in 37 to sustain the winners' push.
Saman scored 17 runs and Umar further frustrated the opponents by hitting 15, which fetched him the Man-of the-Final Award.
Zahid tried his best to make the match of it and could get only two wickets. Nadeem got one.
