Congo- 21 dead in clashes in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Clashes between the army of the Democratic Republic of Congo and a rebel group in the country's east left 21
people dead, dpa cited the Congolese military as saying Monday.

Army spokesman Victor Masandi said rebels of Allied Democratic Forces-National Army for the Liberation of Uganda
(ADF-NALU) attacked an army position overnight Sunday in the village
of Kokola.

The clashes resulted in the deaths of 16 rebels, four soldiers and a
civilian around 40 kilometres north of the city of Beni.
