Kerry heading to Riyadh for security talks


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on May 6 and 7 for security talks, it was announced Monday.

Kerry "will meet with senior government leaders to discuss a variety of issues related to regional security," State Department Acting Deputy Spokesperson Jeff Rathke told reporters.

Kerry will then travel to Paris, France, "to meet with foreign ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ... to discuss shared regional priorities and security cooperation, as well as participate in Victory Day commemorations marking the allied victory in Europe" on May 8, Rathke said.

Kerry will also meet with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius "to discuss regional and global issues," Rathke affirmed.
