Egyptian FM discusses Mideast with US lawmaker


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri on Monday discussed Middle East affairs with Chairman of the Intelligence Committee at the US House of Representatives Devin Nunes.

The meeting mainly discussed challenges posed by the prevalence of terrorist organizations in the region, Bader Abdulaati, foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement.

Latest developments in Yemen and Syria were also tackled, as well as cooperation between Egypt and other countries on both sides of the Mediterranean to take advantage of natural resources in countries such as Cyprus, the statement noted.

On his part, Nunes said that he was all for developing relations with Egypt on all levels, considering that Cairo is a major partner to Washington in the region.
