Kuwait- Bid To Curb Human Trafficking


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Chairwoman of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in Kuwait Iman Erekat said the United Nations House in Mishref organized a course on the subject 'The role of securitymen in the fight against trafficking in persons'. She said this is the Course No 11, of an annual event which is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior to strengthen the capabilities and raise the level policemen by identifying the international expertise possessed by the organization.

Erekat praised the participation of the Interior Ministry for investing in the human element, and preparing national cadres to be familiar with the international standards and expertise in significant aspects, mainly in the fight against human trafficking and human rights abuse among expatriates. She added the course seeks to prepare a team of national instructors and specialists in the field of combating human trafficking, the first of its kind in the Arab region.
