Alfardan Group donates QR300,000 to QRC

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Alfardan Group has announced a donation of QR300,000 to the Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) to help people of Yemen.

Wael Jamal, head of corporate HR at Alfardan Group, handed over the donation to Saed Shaeen al-Kaabi, head of resource mobilisation at QRC, in a private ceremony held recently at Alfardan Towers.

QRC will use the money to fund its humanitarian work of providing basic amenities such as food and water, clothes, shelter and medical aid to alleviate the sufferings of the people of Yemen.

The philanthropic move by Alfardan Group demonstrates its commitment to making valuable contributions towards bringing meaningful changes to the lives of deprived and needy people, according to a statement.

Such public welfare activities and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives are deeply embedded in the group's corporate culture, reflecting its core values, the statement adds.

Jamal said: "Alfardan Group has collaborated with Qatar Red Crescent with the aim of helping support the people of Yemen through our simple contribution. Our hope is to assist in improving the conditions of the people and children there, who were caught in Yemen's civil crisis.

"As part of the company's corporate culture, it is our civil and humanitarian duty to support similar philanthropic programmes with an aim to contribute - even if slightly - in making the world a better place, helping the deprived live with dignity and pride.

"Alfardan has always been at the forefront of supporting such charitable causes as part of the company's integrated values embedded in the CSR initiatives the company conducts, as part of the main corporate pillars set by the company. We also would like to commend the work undertaken by Qatar Red Crescent for the people of Yemen and other areas around the globe, with a special appreciation and thanks for Saed Shaeen al-Kaabi, head of resource mobilisation, and Hamid Moharrar, head of corporate mobilisation, for their efforts and collaboration with Alfardan Group for such causes."
