Flag carrier wins award for best business class
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Flag carrier Qatar Airways has been named Airline with the Best Business Class at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2015, based on votes by readers of the Middle East edition of industry magazine Business Traveller.
The award was presented at a ceremony in Dubai, putting the "spotlight on the Doha-based airline's five-star service" ahead of the Arabian Travel Market, where Qatar Airways has a major presence, according to a statement.
Qatar Airways (UAE) country manager Rohan Seneviratne collected the award on behalf of the airline, adding to the international recognition the carrier has gained with a growing list of awards.
Voting by readers of Business Traveller Middle East was based on the strength of the airline's "renowned five-star service", the statement adds.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar al-Baker said the award reflected the airline's commitment to excellence and professionalism.
"This is another proud moment for Qatar Airways. We are excited to be honoured with the Business Traveller Middle East Awards and consider it as recognition by our passengers of the excellent product and service that we offer," he said.
"On behalf of Qatar Airways, I would like to thank the readers of Business Traveller Middle East magazine and all who travel with us for giving us their vote of confidence. The awards will inspire us to strive even harder for the delivery of exceptional services to our customers both on the ground and in the air."
Awarded Best Business Class for two consecutive years by industry audit Skytrax, and Airline of the Year in 2011 and 2012, Qatar Airways is renowned for providing a "premium travel experience for its passengers", the statement notes.
