Volkswagen to recall 5,869 defective units in China

(MENAFN) According to China's quality watcher, German Volkswagen and its Chinese joint venture FAW-Volkswagen will recall 5,869 units in China on fuel pumps defects, Xinhua reported.

The recalls, starting July 8, involve 8 imported Golf Variant, 512 imported Audi A3 40TFSI, 4,377 Golf A7 1.4T, as well as 972 Audi A3 35TFSI, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said.

Some of the recalled cars might have abnormal or dis-functioning fuel pumps, which might cause inability to start the cars or, under some extreme circumstances, lead to the flameout.
