Advisory Council meeting reviews two draft laws


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Advisory Council held its weekly session yesterday under HE the Speaker Advisory Council Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.

At the outset of the meeting, HE the Secretary-General of the Advisory Council Fahad bin Mubarak al-Khayareen read the agenda which was agreed upon. Then the Council endorsed the minutes of its previous session.

The Council reviewed the following two draft laws:

1. A draft law organising the registration of births and deaths.

2. A draft law amending some provisions of Law No 29 of 1966 organising Qatar's sea ports and decided to refer them to the Services and Public Utilities Committee to study them and a furnish a report thereon to the Council.

Meanwhile, the Advisory Council's Cultural and Information Affairs Committee met yesterday under its rapporteur Dr Mohamed Ahmed Obeidan.

The Committee completed study of the two draft laws:

1- A draft law regulating private schools.

2- A draft law regulating the practice of educational services.

The meeting was attended by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary-General of the Supreme Education Council Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi and Isam Mahmoud Abdul Ila, Legal Adviser at the Minister's Office.

HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary-General of the Supreme Education Council explained the views of the ministry on the two draft laws and responded to relevant inquiries of the Committee's members.

The Committee decided to furnish a report on the two draft laws to the Advisory Council.
