Jordan PM inaugurates Soccerex Asian Forum 2015 at Dead Sea

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Sunday opened the Soccerex Asian Forum 2015, in the presence of HRH Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, FIFA vice president for Asia and president of the Jordan Football Association.

Argentina football legend, Diego Maradona and about 850 participants from around the world, are participating in the two-day event at the King Hussein Convention Centre in the Dead Sea.

The forum, attended by ministers and officials as well, provides a platform for networking and knowledge exchange in football development between the East and West.

About his decision to run for FIFA presidency - elections slated for May 29 -, Prince Ali said that he is running to "defend FIFA's reputation and to bring about the desired change." The Prince added that FIFA was not functioning well, as there were many reports that had not been published, many recommendations that were not discussed and were shelved. "This, certainly, hurts FIFA's reputation, so a change must be brought about," Prince Ali affirmed.

He pointed out that accessing all countries of the world to showcase his electoral program is not easy, stressing that he would try to reach out to all football federations.

His Highness noted that in case he wins FIFA's presidency, the first thing he would do will be to set up a clear and applicable strategy that would benefit football in the world.
