(MENAFN- QNA) HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani has stressed the importance of the Census of Population, Housing and Establishment in providing accurate data and information to formulate development plans and strategies.
Speaking after providing his data and those of his family, in the presence of HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) Dr Mohamed bin Saleh Al Nabit, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior said that the development plans and strategies depends greatly on accurate information collected through the census of population, housing and establishment, adding that the outcome of the census will help decision-makers and planners to formulate development plans and improve services and public utilities in line with the urban and population growth and the geographical distribution.
HE the Prime Minister urged Qataris and non-Qataris as well as owners of companies and establishments in Qatar to cooperate with data collectors and provide them with all information required by the census forms.
HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) Dr Mohamed bin Saleh Al Nabit briefed HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior on the progress and mechanism of field work to collect data for the 2015 Mini-Census of Population, Housing and Establishment.
He also praised the cooperation of households, individuals and companies with data collectors, as well as the cooperation of families who filled in census questionnaires online through the ministry's website.
The 2015 Mini-Census of Population, Housing and Establishment began on April 1and will continue till the end of May.
