Qatar's foreign trade surplus decreases to USD4.52b in March


(MENAFN) Qatar's foreign trade surplus declined to USD4.52 billion in March, marking a decrease by 53.7 percent year-on-year due to lower oil and Nat gas prices, according to the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, Arabian Business reported.

The country's total exports reached USD7.3 billion, marking a decline by 40.7 percent year-on-year. Adding insult to injury, the exports of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons decreased by 43.5 percent in March and reached USD4.79 billion.

By the end of last year, Qatar forecast its economy to record 7.7 percent growth this year. On the other hand, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics expected Qatari economy to grow by 7.8 percent this year.
