Man arrested for stabbing flatmate to death in Ruwi
A man accused of stabbing his flatmate to death in Ruwi has been arrested. According to police a disagreement between the two led to the stabbing. The accused is also said to have stole the victim's possessions. He was traced to a house in Sohar. In his statement the accused has said that the stabbing was in self-defence. Investigations into his claims are on.

More than 1200 heroin capsules seized in Quriyat
Five persons including two Asians have been arrested for drug smuggling and trafficking. A police source said the two had entered the country illegally via sea with the drugs and met the other three in Ghubra. Police was able to locate the consignment to Bimmah in Quriyat. The 9.5kg cache included 1229 heroin capsules.

Three impostors held in Azaiba
Three citizens have been arrested by Azaiba police for posing as police officials and looting an Asian national. The three looted RO400 from the Asian and assaulted him.
