Expert feels SME culture still not prevalent in Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The SMEs Beyond Borders conference held on Thursday discussed themes related to entrepreneurship. 

Speakers from the government and private establishments held discussions on how entrepreneurs can deliver the public sector's economic vision and talked about building businesses through finance recruitment and customer and deliver growth strategies in today's market. Most of them believed that culture of SME is not still prevalent in Oman. Nader al Rawahy director account business development leader - government and public sector Ernst & Young said 'The government needs to devise appropriate rules on work visas and ownership.'

He added 'We urge the government and private sector to have a one-stop shop for development of SMEs. There should be more entrepreneurship culture in the country. The government expects more than 50 per cent contribution to the economy by SMEs by 2020.'
