Employees organisations honoured at Ideas Arabia 2015


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The theme for the two-day conference was Pillars of Innovation.

Dubai — The Dubai Quality Group or DQG held the two-day Ideas Arabia 10th International Conference & Competition 2015 in Dubai which was attended by delegates business leaders industry experts and professionals who discussed the Suggestion and Rewarding Scheme or SRS from around the world.

It was held under the patronage of Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority Chairman of Emirates airline and Chief Executive of the Emirates Group.

The conference provided a forum where experts in the SRS exchanged ideas aimed at bringing to the Middle East the latest developments in the SRS and how implementing it will benefit an organisation and thus create a platform for people in the region to share their best practices in this area.

The theme for the two-day conference was “Pillars of Innovation”. For the DQG innovation is the key focus area for 2015 as the group believes that innovation is at the very heart of their strategy for a smart sustainable and inclusive growth.

This year the conference was supported by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Emirates Global Aluminium as main sponsors; Dubai Customs and Emirates Transport as platinum sponsors; and Dubai Municipality and Emirates National Oil Company as gold sponsors.

The Ideas Arabia Competition 2015 which is conducted every year along with the annual conference recognises the most significant ideas implemented by companies throughout the calendar year (2014). This competition seeks to recognise employees and organisations for their outstanding ideas. Not only does this competition provide an opportunity for participating companies to benchmark against other leading organisations but it also acts as a motivational tool for employees. Participation in this competition had many benefits. It provided additional recognition to the employees and highlighted how involving the employees can benefit the organisation. It helped in imparting one’s experience to other companies and provided an opportunity for one’s own employees to learn from practices followed in other organisations.

The conference closed with the much-awaited awarding ceremony where winners of various categories of the competition were announced along with other supporters of the conference.

“Idea of the Year 2015” and “Best Suggestion Model and Best Suggestion Programme Administrator ” were awarded to Dubai Customs. The Dewa won the “Technology” and “Green Initiative” awards while Emirates Global Aluminium won the “Best Invention” award and “Best Sustainable Ideas Scheme”. The Dubai Land Department won in the “Productivity” and “Customer Happiness” categories while Dubai Taxi won the “Customer Happiness” award.

The Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Police won the “Best Shared Idea” award while the “Special Needs Support” award was given to Emirates Transport. Dubai Police won in the “Financial” and “Education” categories and Al Hilaliat Primary and Secondary School for Girls won the “Green Initiative Award”.

The awards were distributed by Ahmed Mahmoob director of Dubai Customs.
