Healthcare firm eyes Dh1b UAE expansion


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Group plans to open more centres and hospitals in the UAE and abroad in addition to acquiring specialised medical companies by investing about Dh1 billion.

Abu Dhabi — Abu Dhabi’s healthcare company CosmeSurge will spend Dh1 billion to open new healthcare facilities and buy specialised clinics.

The healthcare company has a strategy to expand in the UAE and acquire specialised medical assets to accelerate “our growth better serve our patients and provide the highest standards of healthcare services in our region” Khaled Sawaf CEO of CosmeSurge and Emirates Hospital Group said.

The Group plans to open more centres and hospitals in the UAE and abroad in addition to acquiring specialised medical companies by investing about Dh1 billion.

Sawaf said: “The acquisition of Vein Care Clinic in Dubai which specialises in varicose vein treatments and minimally invasive proctology services will strengthen our current service offerings throughout our network in the UAE and abroad” he said.

The CEO added the group is on target to complete the transition to a new 85-bed facility next to Emirates Hospital in Jumeirah by the fourth quarter of next year. The new facility will have delivery services cardiac angiographies and expanded surgical and medical capabilities.

CosmeSurge Emirates Specialty Hospital in Abu Dhabi is scheduled to be completed by the end of next year and it will consist of two towers: the first will include specialised plastic surgery dermatology and obesity surgery while the second will focus on obstetrics gynaecology and fertility services (IVF) and have 55 beds.

In addition “we aim to open a CosmeSurge and Emirates Hospital in Motor City Dubai where one-day surgery will be done and have 22 beds and 20 outpatient clinics by the third quarter of next year.”

“Also our CosmeSurge and Emirates Hospital clinics in Dubai Marina shall be further expanded to include an additional floor with 18 outpatient clinics by the fourth quarter of this year.”

Sawaf added that these new projects will add 17 new operation theatres to the ones already available with the Group.

He added that the Group is preparing to open a branch of CosmeSurge in Doha Qatar which will include a one-day surgery centre in addition to specialised medical clinics. “We hope that the Qatar Branch will open early next year.”

Since its inception the healthcare group has distinguished itself in its ability to offer safe surgery. “We have performed over 45000 surgeries without a single mortality since we started 13 years ago” he said.

The Group is planning to introduce advanced robotic surgeries and implement a cloud-based hospital information system to enhance service delivery at its 14 healthcare facilities.
