Kuwaiti Al-Muzayen advances to next round in Asian Squash tourney


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti Squash player Abdullah Al-Muzayen qualified to the 8th round for men individual competitions on Saturday in the 18th Asian Squash Championship.

Al-Muzayen was able to advance after beating Pakistani Al-Taib Islam 3-0, with sets 11-9, 11-9, and 13-11 during the round of 16th.

The two players performed well, but Al-Muzayen was able to take advantage of critical points of the match.

Amar Al-Tamimi, of Kuwait, was knocked out in the 16th round after being defeated by a Chinese player 1-3.

Al-Muzayen told KUNA that his match was not easy, stressing that all matches he played were difficult due to the top-seeded players participating in this championship.

Al-Muzayen added also his upcoming match against a Malaysian player would be tough because he was one of the top-seeded in his country. (end)
