Omantel net profit hits RO34.6mn in Q1

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omantel has posted a 7.6 per cent growth in group revenue for the first quarter of this year following a good performance on the domestic front. 

The telecom service provider's total revenue rose to RO129.4mn from RO120.2mn from the corresponding period of last year. Home-market revenue jumped 8.4 per cent to RO127.5mn from RO117.6mn.

Group net profit inched up 0.6 per cent to RO34.6mn from RO34.4mn a year earlier. Net profit was impacted by losses incurred by subsidiaries a company press release of preliminary numbers said.

Domestic net profit however increased 5.1 per cent to RO35.9mn compared with RO34.2mn in the corresponding period of 2014.

Expenses for the period increased by 11.7 per cent to RO92.9mn from RO83.1mn in last year's first quarter.
