Qatar- Uber, QC in charity initiative

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Smartphone technology company Uber has partnered with Qatar Charity, an organisation dedicated to providing vital support to orphans, vulnerable families and people with special needs, by launching a one-day "Spring Cleaning" campaign, offering users in Doha a quick and convenient way to donate their unwanted clothes.

The campaign is part of a global Uber initiative in which multiple cities have partnered with local not-for-profit organisations.

Today, Uber users will be able to open the app and request the 'GIVE' option between 10 AM and 4 PM. Within minutes, an Uber SUV will arrive to carry off the items and donate them to a Qatar Charity location on the users' behalf. The on-demand service will be free of charge.

For donations to be accepted, all items must be bagged and brought out to the drivers when they arrive at the destination.
