(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Commuters in Oman can now use a mobile app to find taxis in their area. The app OTAXI was officially launched by Dr Salim Sultan al Ruzaiqi CEO ITA at Comex 2015 on Wednesday.
An MoU in this regard was signed by Faisal Ali al Manthari CEO Daleel Digital Solutions Company (DDS) and Khalid Salim al Darai chairman Oman Road Transport Association (ORTA) stated a press release.
Launched with the aim of making transportation easier the free app helps passengers find taxis in a particular area. OTAXI mobile app can be activated in simple steps. Users will first need to download the app.
Apple users can download it from the App Store and Android users can do so from Google Play. The second step requires users to enter their name mobile phone number e-mail address and select their desired destination and hit the 'Find Taxi' button to see taxis available in the area.
The app provides passengers with contact details of the nearest drivers as well so that they can either text or phone them added the release.
