CFA Society Kuwait hosts 'Careers Day'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY April 29: CFA Society Kuwait the local society of CFA Institute the world's pre-eminent association of investment professionals hosted its 2015 Careers Day on April 25 for financial professionals interested in developing their career management skills. Over 150 delegates from within the investment and finance community as well as university graduates attended an extensive range of presentations workshops and selected one on one coaching sessions. Attendees also had the opportunity to interact with leading companies and banks in Kuwait as well as placement agencies via booths that had been set up at the location. These allowed for direct interaction and career discussion. The event was hosted by Kuwait University.

Participating companies included leading firms such as Alghanim Industries NBK Capital KAMCO Kuwait Finance House Gulf Bank Bayt Strategia M.H. Al Shaya Co Global Protiviti National Investment Company Deloitte Career Hunters and SOS Hr.

Presenters included Human Resources experts such as Ayman Kazi from Bayt and Fida Americani a training and development expert who covered subjects of interest relating to the labor market recruitment and career development tools and skills.

Among the topics discussed were Effective Job Search Strategies and Branding Yourself Using Social Media. The speakers also stressed the importance of post graduate studies as an effective way of standing out from the crowd.

Rafik Hafez President of CFA Society Kuwait said: 'Building on the success of these events in the past two years we introduced a new focus for this year's CFA Society Kuwait Careers Day and focused on providing specific advice on career development strategies enhancing participants' skills in job search tactics and how they can differentiate themselves. Young professionals are increasingly more mature hardworking and have better quality of work than previously seen. They ask for challenging non-routine roles and require feedback and recognition for their efforts.'
