U.S. economy records 0.2 percent growth in Q1


(MENAFN) The economy of the United States recorded an extremely low growth rate of 0.2 percent in the first quarter of the year due to weaker trade performance and low investments, Express News reported.

In contrast, the U.S. economy marked an even worse result back in the first quarter of 2014, in which the economy suffered a declining rate of 2.1 percent, according to the Commerce Department.

"The U.S. economy stumbled badly in the first quarter. Modest growth in the fourth quarter of 2014 turned into virtually no growth in the first quarter of 2015." The vice president of Bank of the West in San Francisco said.
