Moroccan King adjourns visit to Saudi Arabia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Moroccan Royal Court has announced the postponement of King Mohammad VI's visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was due today, because of the changes in the political leadership in the country.

Due to the remarkable changes made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz early Wednesday, the leaders of the two countries decided to put off the visit for several days, the Royal Court said in a press statement Wednesday.

The decision was taken during a phone call between the two kings, during which King Mohammad VI congratulated King Salman on his appointment of Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud as Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Head of the Political and Security Affairs Council.

The Moroccan King also congratulated King Salman on the appointment of Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud as Deputy Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Head of the Economic and Development Affairs Council. (end) adt.ibi
