Qatar uses USD1b recovery plant to boost gas generating capacity
(MENAFN) Qatar, the world's number one liquefied natural gas generator, is making use of a USD1 billion recovery plant to increase generating capacity, Gulf Times reported.
The plant has recovered gas from over 500 ships so far since its initiation. The JBOG enjoys a daily production of 100 million cubic feet of natural gas, which amounts to 600,000 tons a year of LNG.
"We don't have an expectation of an economic return from the project, but we will benefit from the recovered gas," Qatar Petroleum's chief executive officer said.
