Expo Milano 2015 sells over 10 m tickets


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Commissioner for Expo Milano 2015 Giuseppe Sala on Tuesday announced that the number of tickets sold for the Expo have exceeded expectations.

The Expo set to kick off next Friday in Milano, Italy with Kuwait's participation, has sold 10 million tickets around the world until yesterday, which is a record number in the history of the event, the Commissioner said.

Sala is expecting the Expo to be of huge success regarding the number of tickets sold, adding that 54 participating countries were able to complete their booths on the specified time.

The Kuwaiti delegation will include Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah representing His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Director General and Chairman of the Board of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah.

The Expo Milano officials expect the number of visitors to reach 150,000 daily, with the possibility of rising to 200,000 on the weekends, while the total number of visitors for the event which will conclude on October 31st is expected to exceed 20 million.

The Kuwaiti pavilion will present short documentaries about the marine activities in ancient Kuwait as well as life in the desert, and Kuwait's efforts to use water in turning arid areas into agricultural lands.
