UAE partakes in COMIAC's 10th session in Dakar
(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Ambassador of the UAE to Senegal, Mohammed Salim Al Rashidi, led the country's delegation to the 10th session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)'s Standing Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs (COMIAC).
The session themed "Role of the Youth and Media for Peace and Stability in the Muslim World" was opened by Macky Sall, President of Senegal and Chairman of COMIAC in the presence of Secretary-General of the OIC, Iyad Ameen Madani, and ministers in charge of information and cultural affairs in OIC Member States.
The two-day session will discuss a number of issues including ways of developing the institutions of joint Islamic action and strengthening their role in projecting the true image of Islam and raising the world's awareness of the dangers of pervasive Islamophobia and how to counter it.
The session will also discuss ways of enhancing COMIAC and strengthening its coordination role.
