(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Forty-nine full-time students from the "Advanced Master in Large Project Management" programme of HEC Paris in France visited Qatar as part of their study trip. On their arrival at the HEC Paris in Qatar premises at Tornado Tower, the students were welcomed by Nora Kerbache, Director of University and Corporate Relations and Professor Laoucine Kerbache, Dean & CEO of HEC Paris in Qatar, who gave a presentation about the school's activities and the higher education in Qatar. Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France to Qatar also greeted the students and shared encouraging words with them.
During their six-day stay in Qatar, from April 15 to 20, they got to learn more about ongoing projects through briefings and site visits, as well as the culture, heritage and history of the country through their weekend exposure to various cultural activities.
Among the site projects, this group of students visited the Red Line South Metro, Msheireb Downtown Doha, and the Total Research Center. These visits were coupled with several presentations by directors and managers of these projects. A Msheireb case study was conducted by Wolfgang Amann, Associate Professor at HEC Paris in Qatar. In addition, several keynote speakers shared their insights on the economic history and development of Qatar as well as the challenges of doing business in the region.
"It is indeed an honor and a privilege for us here in Qatar to welcome and host the 49 visiting students from HEC Paris in France," said Nora Kerbache. "This is reflective of the depth and substance of our programs, which enable students to be more aware of the varying business setups and project management practices in other countries such as those in the Middle East, particularly in Qatar," she added.
"These study trips are great opportunities for HEC Paris in Qatar to develop strong links with the main campus in Paris. We are proud of these developments which will certainly attract some of these graduates to Qatar and the region. Therefore, we look forward to welcoming more of HEC Paris students to Qatar in the future as this type of study trips truly add value to their entire learning process," Dean Kerbache said.
