Doha Bank's Mumbai branch operations set for launch today


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha Bank, one of Qatar's leading banking services providers, is all set to begin its Indian operations from Mumbai, the country's financial capital. A formal inaugural ceremony will be held today at Trident Hotel (Mumbai), according to a statement yesterday.

Incorporated in 1978, Doha Bank provides domestic and international banking services for individuals, commercial, corporate and institutional clients.

The bank provides comprehensive range of financial services by deploying consumer-centric technology and innovative delivery channels. It has established overseas branches in Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi as well as Representative offices in Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, Canada, Germany and Sharjah.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by several dignitaries including H E Ali Sherif Al Emadi, Minister of Finance (Qatar), H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Saoud Al Thani, Governor of Qatar Central Bank, and Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Railways (India).

The ceremony will also be attended by Sanjiv Arora, Ambassador of Qatar to India; Ahmed Ibrahim Al Abdullah, Ambassador to India from other GCC countries; Subash Desai, Minister of Industries (Government of Maharashtra), and leaders from key corporates from GCC countries as well as India along with senior members from the banking community in India.

Doha Bank will be represented by Fahad bin Mohammad bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman; Abdul Rehman bin Mohammad bin Jabor Al Thani, Managing Director; Ahmed Al Khal, Board Member; Dr R Seetharaman, CEO, and senior management team of the bank.
