(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY April 27: In a gesture of loyalty and honor reflecting the ongoing attention and encouragement to its staff Ahli United Bank hosted recently a ceremony in honor of Ali Mansour Al Sarraf the most senior bank employee to mark 60 years of his work for the Bank. A number of senior bank executives attended the ceremony and praised Ali Al Sarraf and for his dedication to the Bank throughout these long years.
In a press release on the occasion Ahmed Zulficar Senior Deputy CEO banking support group said: 'We are very pleased to honor Ali Al Sarraf in recognition of his efforts over half a century of hard work and dedication indicating that Ahli United Bank and its forebears since its inception in 1942 was the pioneer in the making and graduation of Kuwaiti banking competencies that assumed the responsibility of developing the banking business in Kuwait. Zulficar clarified that that Al Sarraf's career with the Bank is a unique story because of the various economic political and social changes that he has witnessed during the course of his work . He managed to skillfully adapt himself to the changes in the banking business during these years. His career is also full of noble values good examples and wisdom facing challenges to attain excellence and distinction. It is worth mentioning that Ali Al Sarraf joined the Bank in 1953 when it was The British Bank of the Middle East and later The Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East. He was and still is an example of a hard-working employee with an institutional memory that holds a treasure of fascinating memories of events throughout these long and unforgettable years. Among other recollections he assisted in the process of converting the local currency from the Rupee to the Dinar. Ali recollects that the Bank sent him with a group of employees to the US in 1978 to study the system of Tellers which was to be introduced to the Bank. Ali Al Sarraf became the Director of the Treasury and Head of the Tellers until 1993 when he requested to retire. But in recognition of his efforts and the significant role he played to support the Bank's interests he was asked to stay to serve the many longstanding Bank customers. Al Sarraf on his part expressed his profound appreciation for the care and recognition accorded to him by Ahli United Bank management which reflects the Bank's appreciation of the first generation of bankers who laid the foundation for the Kuwaiti banking sector and who were dedicated in the service of the this important sector and its development in the economy.
