Jordan participates in Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies Forum

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Jordan is participating in the 2nd session of the Global Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, which kicked off in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

The three-day forum, which will bring together some 350 Muslim scientists, intellectuals, researchers, and journalists, will discuss solutions to the issues facing Muslims worldwide and address the causes of the divisions in Muslim societies.

The forum will hold a series of sessions and workshops to promote the culture of peace and strengthen efforts to counter extremist ideologies that are contrary to human values and tolerant Islamic principles, as well as address the risk of religious sectarian violence that prevails in many Arab and Muslim communities.

The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Hayel Dawood and Chief Justice Ahmed Hilayel.

The forum is an important initiative that aims to refute extremist ideologies by making provisions for a real understanding of Islam as a religion of wisdom, compassion, tolerance, and patience.
