Two killed in Jet crash in Saudi Arabia

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) A Saudi pilot and a trainee were killed when their military plane crashed in a training session, Saudi defense ministry said on Sunday.

The plane belonged to the King Faisal Air Academy, a military flight school in capital Riyadh. However, the ministry did not say where the plane crashed.

In February, four crew members died when a military chopper crashed into the west of King Khalid Military City in Hafar al-Batin city. The accident also took place during a training mission.

Saudi Arabia has seen such plane crashes in previous years. In 2013, a Tornado fighter with the Saudi royal air forces fell during a routine training. The crew escaped to safety however.

In 2012, two crashes occurred. The first led to the death of one pilot flying an F15 jet in a training mission, while the other crash saw the down of a Hawk aircraft.
