Spain's 2015 GDP growth forecasts revised up to 2.9 percent

(MENAFN) Spain's Prime Minister announced a GDP growth of 2.9 percent for this year and 2016 at an event organized by the Spanish news agency Europa Press, Xinhua reported.

The Prime Minister revised up economic growth for this year and next year to 2.9 percent, 0.9 percent more than the previous forecast, with Spain recording the highest economic growth in the eurozone.

These predictions are more optimistic than those of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which predicted a 2.5 percent growth. In 2016, the IMF predicted a 2 percent GDP growth.

Brussels and the Bank of Spain predicted a 2.3 percent growth and a 2.8 percent growth, respectively, for 2015. In 2016, they predicted a 2.7 percent GDP growth and Brussels 2.5 percent.
