Vietnam receives USD250.667b FDI in 2014


(MENAFN) Data showed that foreign direct investment (FDI) into Vietnam amounted to USD250.667 billion as of the end of December 2014, Xinhua reported.

During the period, a total of 17,499 FDI projects from 101 countries and territories are still validly operating in Vietnam. The Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City alone had USD37.98 billion FDIs.

In the first three months of 2015, Vietnam received USD1.83 billion in FDI from 33 countries and territories. With USD540.24 million, HCM City ranked first among 28 cities and provinces having the FDI.

"Due investment from the city's budget in upgrading local infrastructure and reducing time to grant them business licenses, are among effective measures that HCM City has applied to encourage more FDI," the city's official said.
