Israel detains 10 Palestinians in W. Bank raids

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Israeli army forces have detained 10 Palestinians in overnight raids in several West Bank provinces, the military and eyewitnesses said Monday.

The army said in a statement that four of the detained Palestinians are suspected of involvement in "terror attacks against Israeli security personals and civilians."

Two others were detained on charges of being members of Palestinian faction Hamas, it said.

Eyewitnesses told The Anadolu Agency that Israeli army troops detained four other Palestinians in Jenin, Bethlehem and Al-Khalil (Hebron) after raiding their homes.

Israeli forces sporadically raid Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank and detain local Palestinians, claiming the latter are "wanted" by Israeli security agencies.

Over 6,500 Palestinians are currently languishing in prisons throughout Israel, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Prisoners' Affairs.
