Islamic Relief Organisation provides urgent food aid for Yemeni refugees in Djibouti


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The International Islamic Relief Organisation of the Muslim World League has delivered the first batch of emergency aid for Yemeni refugees in Djibouti which included quantities of food at a total cost of SR 625,000 benefiting 3,000 families.

Secretary-General of the Organization Ihsan bin Saleh Tayeb, was quoted by the SPA as saying that the emergency aid is the first installment and there will be successive daily deliveries to save and rescue those in distress who have come to Djibouti as a secure haven for them, especially their numbers are steadily increasing and reached so far more than 20,000 refugees.

He pointed out that that this aid included 3,000 bags of rice and similar amounts of sugar, flour and oil, in addition to 5,000 cans of milk.

The Organisation also delivered during the past few years, a variety of humanitarian aid to the poor and needy people in Yemen amounting to SR 90,899,878 which benefited 2,349,986 people in the various provinces there.
