Draft law forces Iran's gov't to gain parliament nod for nuclear deals

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Iran's parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee chief Hossein Naqvi Hosseini announced a draft law that will force the government to gain the parliament's approval ahead of making any future nuclear deals.

The verdict was reached according to the constitution, he told state news agency IRNA, that deals Iran makes with other countries lose legal credibility if not approved by lawmakers.

The current framework deal between Iran and the six world powers ensures the formation of a committee of seven Iranian lawmakers who will supervise the talks.

Despite this, he underlined that there is no guarantee that a nuclear deal can be reached without the Shura Council approval.

On the other hand in the US, Republican Senators say they are on the verge of issuing draft legislation that would give Congress the power to revise any nuclear agreements made with Iran.

In response President Barack Obama has threatened to Veto the bill.
