(MENAFN- The Peninsula) El Jaish and Al Gharafa cruised into the semi-finals of the Qatar Basketball Cup after outclassing their respective opponents in the quarter-finals, yesterday at the Al Gharafa Sports Club.
In the first quarter-final, hosts Al Gharafa prevailed over in-form Al Rayyan by 83-73, following a display of fine teamwork.
Monroe Samuel Junior, who fired 27 points and Downey Devan Deangelo (25 points) were outstanding for the winning side.
The other quarter-final saw El Jaish surpassing Al Arabi 79-67, thanks to a brilliant show by Taggart Shawn Larell who scored 23 points. Apart from Larell, Macklin Vernon Leon (15) and Abilmona Fadi Hani (14) were the other top scorers for El Jaish.
